Marseille star Lassana Diarra is reportedly wanted by Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from Mercato 365, Marseille midfielder Lassana Diarra is keen on a return to the Premier League this summer, with three clubs interested.
Diarra, 31, has rejuvenated his career with Marseille, having spent all of last season on the sidelines due to a contract dispute with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
Becoming a key part of the Marseille side, Diarra is now in line to start for France in their home European Championships campaign this summer – and he could be set for a big transfer too.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Diarra claims that despite signing a four-year deal with Marseille last summer, there is a clause in his contract where he is free to leave, and hopes club president Vincent Labrune will honour their agreement and let him leave.
L’Equipe believe Paris Saint-Germain are keen on Diarra, but other reports in France suggest that Diarra fancies a return to the Premier League.
The combative holding midfielder had spells with Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth before signing for Real Madrid in 2009, and he could be looking for one last crack at England’s top flight.
Mercato 365 believe that Diarra is keen to return to England, and has three options; Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Leicester may need another midfielder if Diarra’s international team-mate N’Golo Kante moves on this summer, and Diarra fits the bill as a possible replacement.
Meanwhile, Manchester United – who may be managed by Diarra’s former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho – are in the market for a midfielder with Michael Carrick out of contract this summer, and Tottenham will consider adding experience to a midfield which was overran in the latter stages of the season without Mousa Dembele in the team.
Diarra won’t be short of offers in the Premier League if reports are to be believed, and having resurrected his career this season, he could be a shrewd signing for one of the Premier League’s top clubs.
