Frank Lampard is reportedly increasing in confidence that he bring Morgan Gibbs-White to Everton, with the Toffees boss keen to sign an attacking midfielder for the Goodison Park side this summer.

90min claim that the English manager is ‘increasingly confident’ that he can lure the Three Lions U-21 youth international to Merseyside, with Gibbs-White wanted by numerous Premier League sides this summer after an outstanding season out on loan with Sheffield United last term.

The 22-year-old talent bagged double digits in both goals and assists for the Blades as Sheffield United made it to the Championship play-offs, and according to reports, parent clubs Wolves are open to selling Gibbs-White this summer for £30m, with Everton seemingly at the front of the queue to land the midfielder.

Everton have had a quiet window of sorts following their near-escape with relegation last season, with Lampard signing James Tarkowski for free from Burnley as well as selling Richarlison to Tottenham in deal worth a reported £60m, and more work needs to be done.

Most positions in the Everton squad could do with improvements, including the midfield area, which is why Gibbs-White could be a fantastic addition for the Toffees next season if Lampard is able to beat rival Premier League sides to the Wolves star’s signature.

Gibbs-White exploded onto the scene last season with Sheffield United, showcasing skills that would make Lampard think of a younger version of himself, and it’s because of this that the Wolves youngster could be one of Everton’s most exciting signings in some time.

After all, Lampard has shown at both Chelsea and Derby County that he can develop young players, with Mason Mount and Reece James his two best examples during his time with the Blues, and Gibbs-White could flourish in a similar manner if Everton can land the England youth international in the coming days.
