A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Kyle Walker is the only key player that Tottenham expect to lose this summer after yet another promising campaign for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

The Mirror reports that Walker is seemingly on his way out of the club this summer, with talks with Manchester City set to begin at some stage this week.

Tottenham are set to receive around £40 million for the 27-year-old, though the Mirror adds that City are prepared to spend even more on the England international if necessary.

But before Spurs fans begin to worry about whether some of their other first-team players will consider reassessing their futures if Walker does move on, the Mirror adds that Pochettino’s men are not expecting any further departures amongst their key squad members.

That will certainly help the side during the coming months as they look to build a squad capable of building on the promise that they have shown over the past two seasons.

Not only will Pochettino keep the majority of that core squad together, but they will also send out a good message to potential targets that they could perhaps be the final pieces in the jigsaw rather than be a part of the foundations.
