Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Kortney Hause is reportedly on the verge of completing a permanent move to Aston Villa.

According to a report from the Express and Star, Kortney Hause is set to join Aston Villa on a permanent basis imminently after Dean Smith’s men triggered the £3 million option in the Wolves defender’s loan deal.
He may have been somewhat outshone by the likes of Tyrone Mings, Axel Tuanzebe and Tammy Abraham, but Hause was certainly amongst the loanees who impressed this past season as Villa secured promotion to the Premier League.
Nevertheless, there remained a question mark over whether Smith would look to keep the 23-year-old beyond this summer with the Villans now stepping up a level.
But the Express and Star reports that Villa have now met the £3 million asking price to trigger the clause that is set to turn his loan move into a permanent deal, and the transfer is set to be completed imminently.

Hause may have not played too much in the final weeks of the campaign, but he certainly seemed to improve significantly in the months following his debut, which came in the 3-0 defeat away at Wigan in January.
And for £3 million, it looks set to be a deal that offers very little risk to Villa. If Smith and his coaching team can keep building Hause’s confidence, then that fee will be looked back upon as an absolute steal.
