Samir Nasri could finally leave Manchester City in the coming days with Europa League champions Sevilla reportedly making the Frenchman their top priority once Yevhen Konoplyanka completes his move to Schalke.

Nasri made his first appearance under Pep Guardiola in Sunday’s 3-1 win against West Ham, impressing in a 15 minute cameo, but still appears to be well down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium after the arrivals of Nolito and Leroy Sane (below).

And the 29-year-old has a reportedly strained relationship with his new manager, who disciplined Nasri at the start of pre-season for being overweight, according to the Daily Mail.

However, as reported by FourFourTwo, Guardiola (below) on Sunday praised the former Arsenal attacker’s determination to resolve his fitness issues and claimed that Nasri could still have a future at City as long as he is prepared to work for it.

Therefore, renewed talk of a departure comes as something of a shock with just two days remaining in the transfer window.

According to Marca, Nasri is now the primary target for Jorge Sampaoli’s Sevilla, with the Andalusian club ready to cut their losses on perennial Premier League target Konoplyanka (below) after an inconsistent first season at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Nasri’s arrival would represent another impressive coup for Sevilla, enhancing the club’s reputation as a place where forgotten talent can be nurtured and revitalised with the likes of Ever Banega and Kevin Gamiero finally fulfilling their vast potential under the guidance of the European specialists.
