Everton have been linked with Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony.
According to The Sun, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has given the green light for the club to sign striker Wilfried Bony in a deal which will see John Stones head to Manchester City.
The report claims that City and Everton have been in talks for much of the summer of a deal for Stones, and now Koeman has agreed to take Bony as makeweight for the £50 million-rated defender.
The England international is said to be keen on a move to the Etihad Stadium, although a fee between the two clubs has yet to be agreed with Everton holding out for as much as they can.
Now, fresh reports claim the Toffees are prepared to strike a deal for the defender, with out of favour centre-forward Bony coming in the opposite direction.
The Ivory Coast international joined City after impressing at Swansea City, but he has struggled to make an impact at the Etihad and finds himself behind Sergio Aguero in the pecking order.
With the Citizens happy to let him go, newly-appointed Everton boss Koeman has seemingly decided he would be a worthwhile addition.
Bony, 27, is rated at £15 million in the report, and he could become the missing piece of the transfer jigsaw which will finally see Stones leave Goodison Park for a team vying for the Premier League title.
