According to The Mirror, Everton boss Ronald Koeman travelled to Amsterdam on Wednesday in order to watch Ajax captain Davy Klaassen in action against Lyon.
The Toffees appear to be winding down towards the end of the season having picked up just one point in their last three games, failing to score in that time.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Swansea highlighted the deficiencies in Ronald Koeman’s side, and he is expected to splash the cash in the transfer market this summer thanks to the investment of Farhad Moshiri.
Now, The Mirror report that Koeman travelled to Amsterdam on Wednesday in order to watch former club Ajax take on Lyon in the Europa League, with Ajax skipper Davy Klaassen believed to be his prime target.

It’s claimed that Klaassen impressed so much in Ajax’s 4-1 Europa League semi-final win, that Koeman is now ready to sanction a £20million bid to try and lure the midfield maestro to Goodison Park this summer.
Klaassen, 24, has come up through the ranks of Ajax’s famed academy, and he was named captain of the Amsterdam outfit in 2015, having become such an important first-team player in the famous red and white.

The Dutch international has racked up 19 goals and nine assists from midfield in all competitions this season, building on his 15-goal haul from last season, with his numbers in the Netherlands showing just how dangerous he can be going forward.
Not only is Klaassen impressive going forward, but he’s tenacious and a fine leader, giving him all the attributes to play in the Everton midfield – potentially as a replacement for contract rebel Ross Barkley, with Koeman possibly hoping that his connections to Ajax, a team he both played for and managed, can help him seal the deal.
