Phillips is going to be backed again by Klopp, according to the latest update, with the rangy defender set to start alongside Jordan Henderson at the back.
Phillips has barely put a foot wrong since stepping into Liverpool’s side, so if Klopp had dropped him it would have proven harsh.
But there is no doubting that the 23-year-old is under more pressure than ever before to perform, with competition for places increasing.
Liverpool need a win tonight to keep pace with the league leaders, with Manchester City also in action against Burnley and Manchester United winning yesterday.
