Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are reportedly about to miss out on Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich.
Liverpool linked with Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Juventus central defender De Ligt in the summer transfer window.
TMW reported on June 21 that Liverpool want to sign the 22-year-old Netherlands international central defender.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s ‘dream’ is to pair De Ligt with his Netherlands international teammate Virgil van Dijk at Anfield.
Van Dijk is one of the best defenders in the world, while an argument could be made that De Ligt is the best young player on the planet in his position.

Defender set for Bayern Munich move
However, it seems that Liverpool’s ‘dream’ of pairing Van Dijk with De Ligt is going to stay just that – a dream.
That’s because, according to The Athletic, the youngster is on the verge of leaving Juventus for Bayern Munich.
Bayern and Juventus have agreed on a €80 million (£67.70 million) transfer fee for the Dutch.
German giants Bayern will reportedly pay an initial €70 million (£59.24 million) but could pay a further €10 million (£8.46 million) in add-ons..
De Ligt has agreed to the move and will sign a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions, according to The Athletic.
