Liverpool are already in discussions over selling Taiwo Awoniyi, despite him receiving a UK work permit, Goal.com say, with West Bromwich Albion and Fulham among the clubs keen.

Liverpool signed Awoniyi way back in 2015, but he still has never made an appearance for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have, instead, sent him out on a series of loan spells across Europe.

Awoniyi has done a solid job away from Anfield and he now has done enough to qualify for a work permit.

As a result Liverpool are apparently intending to use the 23-year-old striker in pre-season, before offloading him.

Interestingly the report says that the Reds want to keep him around for the time being, as they feel he can cover for them while their key players are away on international duty.

With the European Championships and Copa America taking place this summer, Liverpool anticipate being low on numbers at the start of pre-season, which will give Awoniyi a chance to impress.

Goal even say that he may well be given a chance to play for Liverpool in a friendly before being made available.

It does, however, sees unlikely that he will be able to force his way into Klopp’s long-term plans.

Indeed, Liverpool are apparently already talking to multiple clubs about selling the striker.

West Bromwich Albion, Fulham and Stoke City are all keen to snap him up, with Liverpool willing to sell him for £8 million.

In truth Awoniyi has never really pushed to make a claim for a starting spot at Liverpool.

His form on loan has been credible without ever reaching spectacular levels.

If Liverpool can receive £8 million for him this summer then it looks like a boost for them, as it will help them raise funds and make a significant profit on their investment from back in 2015.

West Brom, Fulham and Stoke also must see Awoniyi as a viable option for the Championship, with all three sides having desires on earning promotion to the Premier League next term.
