According to The Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants a new deal given to goalkeeper Alisson – and the club will act this summer.

Alisson made headlines on Sunday evening as he buried a stunning winner to beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at The Hawthorns.

That goal means Liverpool now have a real chance of qualifying for the Champions League, with Alisson the undoubted hero right now.

It’s now stated that Klopp wants Alisson to be given a new contract to keep at Anfield for years to come.

The club’s hierarchy – FSG and other directors – will set the wheels in motion over the summer, beginning talks with the Brazilian.

Alisson’s deal still has three years to run, but Klopp seemingly wants to lingering doubt over his future heading into next season.

At 28, Alisson is just approaching his prime and should have many years at the top still to come, though maybe his focus will be on keeping goals out rather than scoring them moving forward!

Alisson seems happy at Liverpool and has a great bond with his teammates, so it’s hard to see him wanting to leave any time soon.

Getting Alisson tied down to a long-term deal would be a great start to the summer for Liverpool, so let’s hope FSG deliver and give Klopp what he wants.
