According to O Jogo, Liverpool are once again in for Braga defender David Carmo.
The centre-half has enjoyed a fantastic season out in Portugal, and according to this report, Jurgen Klopp has personally recommended the signing of Carmo.
As we know, Liverpool do have an eye on the Portuguese market. After all, they signed Luis Diaz from Porto in January.
Interestingly, Carmo almost joined Liverpool 18 months ago. He even reportedly underwent a medical at the time, and Braga’s manager was convinced that a move would come to fruition.
However, as we all know, that transfer never came to pass, but now, it looks like the Reds are once again keen on Carmo.
So, what type of player would Liverpool be getting if they signed the Braga star?
Well, at the age of just 22, this is a player with a lot of room to grow, but at 6 ft 5 he probably won’t grow any more in stature.
Carmo is a physically imposing centre-back who certainly knows how to marshal a defence.
In fact, his former youth coach has gone as far as to compare him with Sergio Ramos for his leadership ability.

“He is a player with a voice. He knows what he has to do on the pitch. I remember that at the beginning he was an introvert, but he was young. In the under-23s, he was already admired for being a leader and for everything he had achieved,” he said.
“He is one of those players who creates a good atmosphere in the dressing room. He may not yet be as charismatic as Sergio Ramos, but he could be with age.”
Ramos may not be the most popular man on Merseyside after his exploits in the Champions League final back in 2019, but even the most hardened Liverpool supporter would have to admit that the Spaniard has been a fantastic player over the years.
Carmo is in the Ramos mould, and if Liverpool sign him, they could be signing yet another defensive gem.
