Crystal Palace are reportedly fighting to keep hold of winger Wilfried Zaha.

According to The Guardian, Liverpool will prioritise a deal for Lyon forward Nabil Fekir instead of targeting Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha despite Jurgen Klopp’s interest.

The Reds lost Saturday’s Champions League final with a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev, and Klopp wasted no time in kick-starting Liverpool’s summer transfer business.

Liverpool swooped to land defensive midfielder Fabinho from Monaco on Monday evening in a shock, sudden deal, adding him to RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, who agreed to join last summer.

Now, a versatile attacker appears to be the priority for Klopp, and The Guardian report that he holds an interest in Crystal Palace wide man Wilfried Zaha, but will instead prioritise Lyon’s Nabil Fekir.

Zaha, 25, hit nine goals and three assists in 29 Premier League appearances for Palace, with the Eagles relying heavily upon the Ivory Coast international in another impressive campaign for the winger.

Zaha has also received interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, but Palace will fight to keep their homegrown talisman by offering him a bumper new contract to stay at Selhurst Park.

Liverpool will seemingly back off from targeting Zaha for now, as they will instead be prioritising a deal for Lyon’s French international forward Fekir, who could cost in the region of £60million.

24-year-old Fekir – a versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line or as a number 10 – hit 23 goals in 40 games for Lyon this season, and would be another blockbuster signing for the Reds as they pursue an agreement with the French side.
