Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Thiago, Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Georginio Wijnaldum and Andy Robertson time off training this week, according to the Athletic.
Liverpool’s players have a precious break from action, after what has been a hectic schedule, ahead of the international break.
Jurgen Klopp may have been keen to work on things on the training ground in prior seasons, but given the chaotic nature of this campaign, the Liverpool boss has prioritised ensuring his players remain fresh.
As a result the seven aforementioned players have all been given a break from Liverpool training, before they depart to play for their countries.
The Reds have improved of late, and Klopp is said to be determined to make sure that their momentum isn’t halted.
Crucial to that is keeping his Liverpool players fit, and it has been deemed that having time away from the training ground will actually do them good.
With Liverpool’s numbers now depleted, the Athletic suggest that Klopp will call up some of the club’s most promising academy players into the first-team squad to make up the numbers.
That could be exciting news for the likes of Mateusz Musialowski and Leighton Clarkson, both of whom have impressed at development squad level this season.
