Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp apparently wants FSG to sanction a double deal to sign both Ozan Kabak and Ibrahima Konate this summer, EuroSport suggest.
Kabak has joined Liverpool on loan from Schalke and has generally impressed for a player of just 20 in central defence.
Konate, meanwhile, appears to be Liverpool’s top choice in the market.
The RB Leipzig defender has shown great promise in the Bundesliga, and caught the eye of Liverpool’s scouting team.
Klopp now wants both players to be signed, but FSG are ‘very unlikely’ to green light the two signings, as it would cost them over £50 million.
Liverpool’s budget is not thought to be particularly substantial in the summer, meaning that Klopp may have to pick between the two.
That could be a disappointment for the German boss.
However, with Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk back next term, Liverpool’s central defensive options will be stronger and their money may be better off spent elsewhere, rather than signing two players in the same position.
