Liverpool have reportedly offered a deal to Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac.

According to German newspaper Bild, Liverpool have offered a contract to Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac as they eye another bargain raid on the Bundesliga club.

The Reds landed centre back Joel Matip on a free transfer from Schalke in 2016, as manager Jurgen Klopp pounced to land the Cameroonian defender inside the final six months of his contract.

Matip has been a solid defender for Liverpool this season, and it seems that Liverpool are now looking to replicate that success by completing another raid on Schalke – the biggest rivals of Klopp’s former club, Borussia Dortmund.

German newspaper Bild report that Liverpool have offered terms to Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, whose best position is at left back, but he can also play at centre back or in holding midfield.

The Bosnian international, 23, joined Schalke from Stuttgart back in 2011, and has made more than 100 appearances for the Gelsenkirchen club, establishing himself as a versatile option at the back.

However, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Kolasinac can walk away from the club for free, and with less than six months to go on that deal, he can start fielding offers from other clubs.

Liverpool are now believed to have made an offer, though five other clubs have also made bids to land Kolasinac, with AC Milan, Arsenal, Juventus, Manchester City and Roma believed to have made contact.

Liverpool have had plenty of problems at left back in recent times, with Alberto Moreno’s poor performances prompting Klopp to play midfielder James Milner as a makeshift left back this season.

Kolasinac would help solve those problems, possessing pace, strength and attacking ability, whilst his free agent status makes him a potential bargain – but with so much other interest, Liverpool face a fight to land their man.
