Kaide Gordon has only been at Liverpool for a couple of months but it seems like he’s already making a big impression on Merseyside.
Liverpool snapped up the 16-year-old prodigy in February after signing him from Derby County.
Rams boss Wayne Rooney labelled Gordon as ‘fantastic‘ and claimed the Championship club tried to keep him.
But the allure of Liverpool proved too much for the teenager, who has already been making waves in the Reds’ youth teams since joining.
And now it has been reported that he was called into Jurgen Klopp’s senior training this afternoon.
According to The Echo, Gordon was among the young players who mixed it with the stars of the Axa Training Centre, along with Leighton Clarkson, Billy Koumetio and Owen Beck.
The first two have been in and around senior training for a while, but the experience will no doubt give Gordon a taste of things to come hopefully.
Gordon made his Under-18 debut for the Anfield club against Blackburn Rovers two months ago.
You would think that he’s years away from Liverpool’s senior squad in terms of match day goes, considering his age.
But Harvey Elliott is ripping it up in the Championship this season and he was only 17 when he was loaned out.
Nobody’s saying that Elliott is ready for Klopp’s senior side, but he’s definitely going to return to Anfield as a better, more rounded player and with his ability, it wouldn’t be a major surprise if he is retained by the German coach for next season.
Gordon turns 17 in October of this year and although it might be early for a season-long loan next term, stranger things have happened.
