Jurgen Klopp has officially called striker Mario Balotelli back to Liverpool for pre-season, reports Gazzetta World.
The striker has spent this past season on loan at Serie A side AC Milan after a disastrous first year at Anfield.
He has failed to impress with the Italian giants though, making 23 appearances in all competitions and managing just three goals in total.
He struggled for both form and fitness during his loan spell and they are not interesting in making his move a permanent one.

As a result he is set to return to Liverpool, and according to Gazzetta World, Jurgen Klopp has already called him back for pre-season training in July.
That does not however signify that Balotelli has a long term future under the German at Anfield, with a sale looking the most likely of outcomes.

He has publicly stated on several occasions that he does not want to return to Anfield, and it is very likely that his agent Mino Raiola will push hard to find a deal for his client.
Whether he can find one though remains to be seen, with the last two years unlikely to have convinced many clubs he would be a smart purchase.
