Liverpool are not allowing Joel Matip to leave Anfield right now, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Matip has been linked with an exit from Liverpool in recent days, but those rumours have quickly been shut down by the local paper.
Jurgen Klopp apparently has no intention of selling the centre-back, even as Liverpool bid to raise funds.
Liverpool have already offloaded Dejan Lovren this summer, and if they were to sell Matip too, they could leave their options dangerously short in central defence.
Matip has provided very reliable cover to Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk over the past year, and he is considered simply too important to sell this summer.

The 28-year-old now looks set to stay and fight for his place in Liverpool’s side next term, despite claims on the Football Terrace podcast suggesting that PSG have an interest in him.
Matip made 13 appearances for Liverpool over the past campaign, and has proven to be a bargain buy ever since he joined Liverpool on a free transfer in 2017.
