Speculation is rife again that Liverpool want Ousmane Dembele this summer.
The Barcelona winger has struggled during his three-year spell at Camp Nou and it’s been reported that they’d take £37 million [The Daily Mail] for the France international.
According to Bleacher Report, Liverpool could try and bring Dembele to Anfield if a move for Timo Werner fails.
But that report is wide of the mark, going by another one from The Evening Standard.
The English outlet claims that the Reds haven’t made a move for the 23-year-old and that manager Jurgen Klopp is ‘not believed to be keen’ on signing him.
And to be honest, this is way more believable.
That’s because not only is Dembele injured at the moment, making a transfer a bit unrealistic, but he’s regularly injured.
According to Transfermarkt, the former Borussia Dortmund winger, who was on Liverpool’s radar in 2016, has missed 86 games for the Camp Nou club in three years, which is a lot.
And even for £37 million, which is £92 million less than what Barca reportedly paid for him, it’s still a gamble during the current climate.
