According to German newspaper Sport Bild, Hamburg striker Bobby Wood is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs, including Everton, Liverpool and West Ham United.

The United States look to have a bright future ahead of them, with a talented crop of young players coming through, including DeAndre Yedlin, Matt Miazga, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Julian Green, Emerson Hyndman, Jordan Morris and Wood.

Wood, 22, moved to Germany in 2007 and enjoyed spells with 1860 Munich and Union Berlin before being snapped up by Hamburg in 2016.

The young attacker his hit nine goals in 24 competitive outings for Hamburg this season, whilst he has also scored eight time in 29 caps for his country.

Wood, who can play as a striker or out wide, has pace, strength and decent aerial ability, and his performances in Germany appear to have attracted interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sport Bild report that Wood is wanted by Premier League clubs Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Southampton, Stoke City and West Ham United – and a clause in his contract means that he could leave Hamburg for just €5million (£4.3million) if they suffer relegation.

Hamburg staying up would mean that Wood’s release clause is €12million (£10million) instead, with the club currently occupying the relegation/relegation play-off spot.

Either fee could appeal to Premier League clubs, with Everton and West Ham almost certainly set to be in the market for new attacking reinforcements come the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp should be well aware of what Wood can do having impressed in Germany, and Klopp may see Wood as a promising attacker to develop – and owners Fenway Sports Group would no doubt love to land an American star to help the club’s brand stateside, and with Christian Pulisic unlikely to move, Wood could be next on the list for the Reds.
