Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is reportedly on the radar of Kilmarnock.

Kilmarnock are interested in signing Freddie Woodman from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 63, July 2, 2017).

Woodman played on loan for Kilmarnock during the second half of the 2016-17 campaign, and the Scottish club reportedly want the goalkeeper back.

According to the report, Newcastle want the 20-year-old England Under-21 international back in Scotland for the 2017-18 campaign.

Good move?

Woodman is a very talented and promising young goalkeeper, and his performances for the England Under-20 side at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup this summer were superb.

For the youngster to progress, he needs to play regularly; staying at Newcastle for the 2017-18 campaign is not going to help him get much playing time.

If Kilmarnock are ready to offer Woodman the chance to play regularly next season, then the Englishman should take it.

The Scottish Premiership is not as easy as many people think it is, and playing against teams such as Celtic and Rangers is only going to make Woodman more mature.
