The Tottenham Hotspur fullback has played second fiddle for the last 12 league matches.

With lots of speculation surrounding the future of a number of Tottenham Hotspur players, the Mail are reporting that Kieran Trippier has spoken to the club about his disappointment at a lack of minutes so far this season.
The 25-year-old has failed to even make the Spurs bench in either the 1-1 draw with Everton or the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, and the report suggests he has told the club that he wants more game time, with manager Mauricio Pochettino eager to retain the right back.
Tottenham have been strong in the fullback position for the last couple of seasons, and at present they have the former Burnley man as well as England and US international’s Kyle Walker and DeAndre Yedlin contesting a place in the first eleven.
However, it has been Walker who has proven himself very much Pochettino’s first choice, starting and impressing in both the club’s opening matches of the 2016-17 season.

Much of Trippier’s football last season came in the Europa League and the domestic cups. He played 90 minutes of every European match, more than half of his total 19 appearances in the campaign, but has to know that he will not have the same luck this year now Tottenham are set to feature in the Champions League. In fact, his last league appearance was back in the beginning of March.
That means he has a handful of domestic cup matches where he could feature, as well as some Premier League matches after European ties, suggesting the club will have to be persuasive if they are to placate the defender.

Both Trippier and Yedlin have been linked with exits this summer, as they reach an age in their mid-20s where they will be eager to move from being a squad player to becoming a first choice fullback at an established top flight club.
Spurs may choose to let at least one player go, with promising youngster Kyle Walker-Peters coming through the ranks. If it is Trippier that departs, Tottenham may argue that he impressed enough for the North Londoners to ask for more than the £3.5 million (Mail) they paid Burnley for his services in 2015.
