Newcastle have signed Kenedy on loan from Chelsea until the end of the campaign.

And if the Brazilian can help keep Newcastle in the Premier League, he will be open to making the switch to St. James’ Park on a longer-term basis.

Kenedy is set to go straight into Newcastle’s first-team, but it is not yet clear if Rafael Benitez wants to play him at left-back or in left-midfield.

Kenedy can play anywhere down the left-hand side, and could be a useful option for Newcastle in either position.

The 21-year-old has struggled for appearances at Chelsea, but is regarded as an exciting prospect by Benitez.

There is not said to be a fee set to make the move permanent yet, but Kenedy is believed to be keen on joining Newcastle for the years ahead, if he is given regular game time this season.

Kenedy could make his Newcastle debut tomorrow, when they take on Burnley.
