According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United have made a bid for Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho – but Pep Guardiola’s men want a buy-back clause included in the deal.
Iheanacho, 20, joined City from the Taye Academy, and enjoyed a fine first season with the club last term, scoring 14 goals in 35 games to become one of the Premier League’s top young players.

However, the Nigerian struggled for playing time under Pep Guardiola, starting just five Premier League games, though he did end the season with seven goals in all competitions.
With Iheanacho now behind Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero in Guardiola’s pecking order, speculation surrounds the striker’s future, with the Daily Mail now claiming that West Ham have submitted a bid for his services.

It’s stated that West Ham have made an offer to sign Iheanacho, with City valuing him at around £20million, though it’s unclear just how much Slaven Bilic’s men have offered to sign the striker.
City allegedly want a buy-back clause inserted into the deal, meaning they can activate a move to re-sign Iheanacho inside a certain period of time, and it’s also unclear whether West Ham would be open to such a clause.

The report states that Iheanacho has now left Nigeria’s international training camp in Paris in order to return to England to resolve his future, which may give West Ham some hope of striking a deal.
The Hammers have been searching for a top striker for some time now, and landing a quality finisher with real potential in Iheanacho could be a major coup for the club – if they can strike an agreement with City.
