Tottenham Hotspur look set to lose teenager Keanan Bennetts.
According to German newspaper Express, Tottenham Hotspur teenager Keanan Bennetts is set to leave the club in order to sign for Borussia Monchengladbach.
Bennetts, 19, has come up through the ranks with Spurs having been born in North London, and has played a starring role for Tottenham’s youth sides.
The left winger, who has also featured as a left wing back, has impressed this season and looked to be a promising talent for the future, but is now on the verge of an exit.
German newspaper Express report that Bennetts is set to sign for Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, and has already undergone his medical ahead of a shock move.
Few could have predicted that Bennetts would be leaving Spurs this summer given his bright future, but he could become the latest talented young English player to choose a move to Germany.
Manchester City’s Jadon Sancho turned his back on Pep Guardiola’s side in order to join Borussia Dortmund last summer, whilst West Ham’s Reece Oxford and Everton’s Ademola Lookman chose loan moves to Gladbach and RB Leipzig respectively this season.
Bennetts does have ties to Germany though; his mother was born there and he even represented Germany at Under-15 level before switching to play for England, and this shock move to Gladbach may just see Bennetts reconsider his international future too as Spurs seemingly prepare to lose a talented teenager.
