According to the Daily Star, Manchester City are set to tie up the signing of Fluminense duo Kayky and Metinho.
It’s claimed that Kayky looked ‘destined’ to join Liverpool, as the Reds have been tracking him for the last year.
However, City have now swooped in and hijacked Liverpool’s interest, with a double raid for Kayky and teammate Metinho thought to be imminent.
Fluminense will land an initial fee of £5million for Kayky and £4million for Metinho, but there will be considerable add-ons involved too.
The Brazilian pair will immediately head out on loan due to work permit problems, with City sending them to one of their partner clubs.
Kayky, 17, is an attacker who has shown promise in Fluminense’s Under-17’s, and also has interest from Shakhtar Donetsk – but he’s City-bound instead as things stand.

Midfielder Metinho can play for Brazil or DR Congo, and The Guardian compared him to Manchester United ace Paul Pogba last year.
City have added Brazilian talents like Diego Rosa and Yan Couto, with Kayky and Metinho now looking set to join them in a transfer win over Liverpool.
