According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow could end up leaving the club this summer.

It’s claimed that Premier League clubs want to sign Darlow this summer, whilst teams abroad are even taking a look at him.

The 30-year-old has started 25 Premier League games this season, but has been unceremoniously dropped for Martin Dubravka.

The Athletic claim that Darlow is ‘upset’ at losing his place, because he felt he was closing in on an England call-up.

Instead, Sam Johnstone of West Bromwich Albion has been brought into the squad, and Darlow certainly won’t get back in contention by sitting on the bench.

If Steve Bruce wants to go with Dubravka moving forward, then Darlow is likely to push for an exit at the end of the season.

The former Nottingham Forest man can play for Wales, but being so close to an England call-up and seeing it fall away has to be frustrating.

Darlow will be desperate for a starting role elsewhere, but Newcastle may soon face a very similar quandary over the future of Freddie Woodman.
