Juventus sent scouts to Anderlecht’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund to watch Youri Tielemans, who is a target for Manchester United.
Youri Tielemans has become hot property with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Juventus all said to be desperate to lure him, but the Italians are reportedly trying to get in first.
The 17-year-old midfielder is one of Europe’s brightest prospects and was the third youngest player ever to play in the Champions League at the age of 16 years and 148 days when he made his debut.
A January bidding war could be in the offing as Manchester United are rumoured to be readying an offer and Juventus sent a representative to Anderlecht’s defeat against Borussia Dortmund in mid-week to try and get to the head of the queue.
The game against Dortmund may not have been the best example of Tielemans’ abilities as he was ineffectual as his Anderlecht team were outclassed.
But Juventus have reportedly watched Tielemans on many occasions and he is showing enormous promise.
The Italian champions have struggled to compete financially with Europe’s other biggest teams and may turn their attentions in the January market to younger stars who can prove more affordable.
