While the Daily Express believes that Juventus want to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, the Italian press state that they have no chance of getting him.
Arsenal have reportedly told Bayern Munich to forget about signing Mesut Ozil and Juventus’s dream of signing the German international looks destined to remain just that.
Ozil’s position at Arsenal remains the subject of intense speculation as he has struggled to make a contribution of late and is now facing an injury lay-off.
The Daily Express believes that one option for a fresh start would be Italian champions Juventus, who are also keeping an eye on Lukas Podolski.
If Bayern’s bid fell short then Juventus would be unlikely to meet the valuation unless they were to sell of key assets such as Arturo Vidal.
Even then, Ozil’s wages would be a massive problem because a recent survey showed that Serie A stars, even at top clubs like Juventus, are on far less than their Premier League counterparts.
So Ozil to Juventus doesn’t seem likely any time soon, but maybe Podolski could be a more realistic target.
