Juventus preparing a January swoop to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
Liverpool’s Emre Can celebrates scoring the team’s first goal during the Champions League qualifier second leg match against Hoffenheim.
Emre Can has been in inspired form for Liverpool so far this season, particularly excelling in a more advanced role against Hoffenheim during Champions League qualification.
Can scored twice during a second leg 4-2 home victory against the Germans, the second of which was an excellent team move from one end of the pitch to the other which perfectly illustrated Jurgen Klopp’s fast-paced counter-attacking style.

Yet the Reds are at risk of losing the 23-year-old on a free transfer next summer, with the Germany international having entered the final year of his current contract.
The Independent reports that long-term admirers Juventus are preparing to begin talks with Can’s representatives in January to discuss a move to Turin at the end of the season.
As Juve are a club outside of English football, they can form a pre-contract agreement with the player six months before his current deal at Anfield expires.

This is a worrying prospect for the Merseyside club but one they are powerless to do anything about unless they can convince Can to extend his current stay at the Premier League club.
The one saving grace may be that, according to the Express, the Serie A outfit are prepared to offer a small fee to sign the German in January instead, although that will be little consolation for a midfielder who is truly starting to fulfill his potential at Liverpool having originally joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014.
