According to Corriere Dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur ramped up the pressure on Juventus to sell defender Merih Demiral on Saturday – but their efforts failed.
It’s claimed that Tottenham’s ‘pressure has intensified’, having failed to convince Inter Milan to sell top defensive target Milan Skriniar.
However, Juventus still haven’t budged, and view Demiral as ‘untouchable’ ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
Juve allegedly won’t even consider a deal, even with an ‘interesting proposal’ on the table, as new boss Andre Pirlo ‘strongly believes’ in Demiral.
Fiorentina tried to have him included in a deal for Federico Chiesa, but they have also been told that the Turkish defender isn’t for sale.
The 22-year-old joined Juve from Sassuolo last summer having briefly impressed in Serie A, but he played just eight games before suffering a season-ending injury.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Demiral is a strong and imposing centre back but he has also shown impressive pace for his size.
Demiral could have been an impressive signing for Spurs as Jose Mourinho desperately searches for a new defender, but he will have to look elsewhere once again as Tottenham come up empty from their Italian shopping trip.
