According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus are backing away from Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira due to the asking price on his head.

It’s claimed that Juve are desperate to add a new midfielder in 2021, and are considering a host of options.

Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz is one of them, and it’s stated that Torreira has been offered to Juve as a possible solution.

However, Juve have concerns about Arsenal’s €30million (£27.5million) asking price on Torreira, whilst his size is also thought to be a worry.

Torreira hasn’t fully settled at Atletico Madrid, and it’s unclear whether they will make his loan move permanent at the end of the season.

Arsenal are unlikely to want the Uruguayan back, but Juve backing away means another potential suitor is off the table.

Torreira has starred in Serie A before with Sampdoria, so heading back to Italy could make sense if Atletico don’t turn his move permanent.

Reuniting with Aaron Ramsey in Turin seemingly won’t be happening though, and other suitors will have to emerge if Torreira is to return to Italy.
