Juventus are reportedly plotting a late swoop to sign OGC Nice attacker Amine Gouiri, who is on the verge of joining Stade Rennais amid interest from Premier League sides Newcastle United and West Ham.
According to Foot Mercato, the Serie A giants are interested in the French youngster as Juventus look to add more one attacker to their ranks before the closure of the summer window, with Gouiri eyed as a potential signing despite the 22-year-old nearing a move to Rennes in an unusual swap deal with fellow attacker Gaetan Laborde.
Newcastle and West Ham have also reportedly been chasing Gouiri this summer, however, with the Toon signing Alexander Isak and David Moyes landing Lucas Paqueta in two club-record deals for the Premier League sides, a late move for the Nice star feels very unlikely at this point.
And this could be why Juventus have now themselves entered the race to sign Gouiri, with the attacker seemingly set on leaving Nice and opting to join Rennes as they’re the last option remaining, yet the Bianconeri could be the attacker’s saviour in this window.
Gouiri was one of Ligue 1’s best attackers last season, and with a World Cup on the horizon, the versatile forward will want to be playing at the highest level if he is to win a spot in Didier Deschamps’ squad that this November will head to Qatar to defend their world championship title.
Indeed, time is running out for Juventus to move for Gouiri, and with Nice and Rennes eager to complete a swap deal, the Serie A side will have to lodge a big offer in the coming hours if they’re to sign the 22-year-old star, who French media have hailed as a ‘super talent’.
Gouiri will be hopeful that Juventus make late bid to sign Nice star

Gouiri himself might not have expected himself to move to Rennes of all clubs after the season he had with Nice, yet barring a late miracle, this is the reality the French talent finds himself in, yet there’s still time for Juventus to make a swoop for the attacker.
With a reported price tag of €40m (£34m), a deal could be done with Juventus should the Old Lady make an ambitious proposal for the Nice star, and for the likes of Newcastle and West Ham, they could regret not pushing hard enough to sign the youngster this summer should he flourish this season.
