Juventus are now pushing to sign reported Arsenal target Leandro Paredes following the release of Aaron Ramsey, with the Serie A giants finally riding themselves of the Wales international.
According to Il Mattino, Juventus are PSG are keen to get finalise a deal for the Argentine midfielder, with the French side looking to offload Paredes for €25m (£20m), a transfer fee that their Italian counterparts are willing to meet after the release of Ramsey from their payroll.
The former Arsenal midfielder has endured a rough time at Juventus ever since joining the club in 2019 for free, with Ramsey one of the club’s top earners yet frequently left out of the squad and last January shipped out to Rangers on loan, with the 31-year-old only making 70 appearances across three seasons with the Bianconeri.
And now, with Ramsey off Juventus’ books, Massimiliano Allegri’s side are looking to sign Paredes as the Welshman’s replacement, with PSG keen to clear out their squad to make way for new arrivals, with new manager Christophe Galtier reportedly close to signing Renato Sanches from LOSC Lille.
With Arsenal linked to Paredes, Juventus signing the Argentine after releasing an Emirates Stadium icon in Ramsey is a one-two blow for supporters of the north London side, who could now miss out on a top defensive midfielder whilst also seeing one of their own disgraced with no remorse.
Indeed, Mikel Arteta is still on the hunt for a central midfielder this summer, and whilst a fairytale move for Ramsey is currently on the minds of many supporters, it’s Paredes who could have been a more suitable option for the Gunners, yet Juventus now look to have beaten the Premier League giants to the PSG star.
Juventus’ release of Ramsey to sign Paredes is a great piece of business

Juventus have made some questionable transfer decisions in the past few years, but the choice to finally get Ramsey off their wage bill and to sign Paredes as a replacement could be one of the shrewdest pieces of business the Italian giants make in some time.
Whilst the entire process is a huge slap in the face for Arsenal, Juventus emerge from this as huge winners as not only did they release a player they have been trying to offload for nearly 18 months in Ramsey but they will also sign a quality replacement in Paredes, who could be a superstar upon his return to Serie A.
