Juventus have contacted the representatives over Liverpool midfielder Emre Can as they firm up their interest in making a summer move for the star, according to calciomercato.

Juve have been linked with Can for some time, but now appear to have finally made a solid move for the midfielder.

Can has been an important man for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp and his predecessor Brendan Rodgers, making 118 appearances in under three seasons.

However, the 23-year-old’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of next season, and though some talks are thought to have taken place between club and player regarding a new deal, little progress has been made.

Juve are thought to be keen to pounce on that indecision, and calciomercato reports that they have held talks with Can’s representatives as they believe he is unhappy on Merseyside.

The Italian outlet claims that the delay in a new deal at Liverpool being agreed is a matter of Can’s playing time and the Reds’ ambitions rather than his wages, and Juve clearly feel they could offer him regular football.

A move to Juventus would be heard to turn down if a solid offer came in, but with Can havign a little over a year left on his deal, Reds fans may have to brace themselves for losing the star for an underwhelming fee.
