Juventus are reportedly closing in on securing their first signing of the summer in the form of Sampdoria forward Patrick Schick.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal is now close to being done, after Juventus have spoken with the player and talks held with his agent.

The news will come as a blow to Tottenham Hotspur who were strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old. The youngster has enjoyed a brilliant 2016/17 campaign where he scored 13 goals this season in all competitions for Sampdoria.

Earlier this month, reports emerged that Spurs have reached an agreement with the Italian and the player’s agent over the possible signing of the Czech Republic international.

A report from Il Secolo XIX claimed that Spurs have reached an agreement over a contract offer for Schick with his agent Pavel Paska.

Spurs were thought to be favourites for signing Schick, who has a reported £18 million release clause, as per talkSPORT, in his contract at Sampdoria.

However, it seems Juventus have moved in quickly ahead of Spurs and have secured his signing at the earliest. Or it could be, Spurs have cooled their interest and didn’t pursue with the deal.
