Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are reportedly leading the race to sign the Roma midfielder.

Nicolo' Zaniolo of AS Roma celebrates scoring first during the Serie A match between AS Roma and ACF Fiorentina at Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Italy on 3 April 2019.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are attempting to steal a march on Tottenham in the race to sign Roma ace Nicolo Zaniolo by offering their rivals Gonzalo Higuain in exchange for the midfielder.

Spurs are keen to sign the 20-year-old this summer, according to a report from the Guardian, whilst Sky Italia claims that the youngster could cost the north London outfit as much at £63 million.

Tottenham have already signed Tanguy Ndombele this summer, but it is no secret that Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in a more creative-minded central midfielder.

And Zaniolo could be just the ticket for Spurs.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport claims that Tottenham could have their work cut-out in the race to sign the Roma ace, however, with Juventus allegedly prepared to send Higuain to the Italian capital in a bid to gain an advantage in the race for the midfielder’s signature.

Roma are in need of another top class centre-forward, so they might just be attracted by the prospect of bringing Higuain to the Olympic Stadium.

Tottenham will not give up on Zaniolo, however, and will hope that the exciting project being overseen by Pochettino is enough to convince the Italian youngster that Spurs is the club for him.
