Newcastle are reportedly in talks with PSG to sign defender Stanley N’Soki.

French outlet RMC Sport have claimed on their live transfer blog (Thursday, 6:22pm) that Newcastle United were not the only club interested in Paris Saint-Germain defender Stanley N’Soki.
The report claims that they will have to do battle with Italian champions Juventus and French giants Marseille if they want to land the France youth international, who has just a year remaining on his current deal.
Sky Sports had claimed on Thursday afternoon that Newcastle had opened talks to sign the 19-year-old defender, who is believed to be rated at around £7million this summer.
But it is now believed that Marseille have made an enquiry for the defender, who is expected to leave the club despite PSG’s attempts to get N’Soki to sign a new contract. Juventus have also expressed an interest.

Newcastle need a new central defender after Florian Lejeune suffered a long-term injury, leaving just Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark as viable options at the heart of Benitez’s defence.
Newcastle also suffer a disadvantage in that they must complete a deal by August 9, while France and Italy’s transfer windows close at the end of the month. N’Soki has only ever made one senior PSG appearance.
