Juventus seem to be in pole position to sign Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez with reports suggesting they have agreed personal terms.
Alexis Sanchez’s likely departure from Barcelona has caused a flurry of interest from some of Europe’s biggest teams, but Juventus seem favourites to sign him.
The 25-year-old is said to be on Arsenal and Liverpool’s summer shopping list, but Juventus have a potential negotiating advantage as the player’s agent also represents Bianconeri star Arturo Vidal.
Sanchez could make a decision over his future before the World Cup where he will be a key figure for Chile and Juventus appear to be making the running.
Although he struggled to settle at Barcelona in his first two seasons, Sanchez was superb this season with 19 goals and 10 assists in 27 league starts.
It is something of a surprise that Barcelona are willing to let him leave, but the Catalan giants are listening to offers.
The Old Lady had been waiting to clarify the future of coach Antonio Conte before they acted in the transfer market, but Conte has now committed to be in Turin next season and is said to have done so on the condition that big names such as Sanchez are brought in.
Sanchez is no stranger to Serie A having made his name with Udinese where he played between 2006 and 2011 before Barcelona signed him for around £20m.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona would accept a similar bid from Juventus but a deal will still need some time to be agreed.
During the period when a deal is thrashed out, Liverpool or Arsenal could step in and try and steal Sanchez away, possibly opening up a bidding war.
