Newcastle United are reportedly set to hand Paul Dummett a new long-term contract.
According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are ready to seal new five-year deals for defenders Paul Dummett and Jamaal Lascelles.
The Magpies tied up their second signing of the summer on Tuesday, as French defender Florian Lejeune joined the club from Eibar, joining Christian Atsu at the club.

Rafael Benitez will certainly want more new signings before the start of the new Premier League season, but he may also focus on keeping existing talent at St. James’ Park.
The Mirror now report that Newcastle are set to confirm new five-year contracts for defenders Paul Dummett and Jamaal Lascelles, who were vital in the club’s promotion last season.
The Chronicle reported less than a month ago that Stoke City were lining up a bid to sign Dummett, who has been one of Newcastle’s more unheralded players in recent years.
Dummett, 25, has been in the Newcastle ranks for 17 years now, and having made more than 100 appearances for the club, the Welsh international has become a dependable player at left back – and in a bid to fend off Stoke, Newcastle will now hand him a five-year deal.

The same is coming to centre back Jamaal Lascelles, who missed just three Championship games last season as Newcastle won the title and subsequent promotion back to the Premier League.
A 2014 signing from Nottingham Forest who only began his Newcastle career in 2015 having spent the first year back on loan at Forest, Lascelles has gone on to impress for the Magpies, with the 23-year-old developing into something of a leader – and the Englishman will also receive a five-year deal as he prepares to fight with Lejeune for a place in the Newcastle first team.
