The German reportedly felt Gotze was using Liverpool as a back-up option and pulled out of a move.
Mario Gotze – Germany celebrates goal
According to the Daily Telegraph, Jurgen Klopp pulled out of a move for Mario Gotze when the player refused to move before Euro 2016.
The Reds have been linked with the Germany star for several months, with it looking increasingly likely he will leave Bayern Munich this summer.
He had fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola and that situation looked unlikely to improve under Carlo Ancelotti.

A move to Liverpool was touted as a reunion with Klopp, who he enjoyed his best years under at Borussia Dortmund, could help him get his career back on track.
It appears that the Reds were keen on bringing him to Anfield too, but Jurgen Klopp reportedly lost patience with his former star.
Hertha BSC v Bayern Munich – German Bundesliga
According to the Daily Telegraph, the German international’s refusal to commit to a deal before Euro 2016 snapped Klopp’s patience.
He felt that Gotze was using his side as a back up option so withdrew his bid for the Bayern Munich midfielder as a result.
Gotze now looks set to return to Dortmund, and it will be interesting to see if Klopp makes a move for a similar player in the transfer window instead.
