Liverpool reportedly want to sign the Ajax defender.

According to German publication Bild, Jurgen Klopp has asked the Liverpool board for just one signing this season – Ajax ace Matthijs de Ligt.
The 19-year-old has been in quite simply brilliant for Ajax this season, and he has already established himself as one of the world’s finest central defenders, in spite of his tender years.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the Holland international for quite some time now, according to the Sun, and if Klopp manages to bring him to Anfield, it would be quite the coup.
De Ligt wont come cheap, however, with Fox Sports reporting that he will cost somewhere in the region of £75 million.
It is unclear as to how much money Liverpool actually have to spend this summer, but according to German media outlet Bild, Klopp is desperate to land the teenager, and has asked the club’s board to back him by pursuing the Ajax ace.

The thought of having De Ligt line up alongside Van Dijk at the heart of Liverpool’s defence will undoubtedly be a tantalising one for Reds fans, and it might just be enough to help the Merseyside outfit win their first league title since 1990.
Liverpool will have their work cut-out if they want to sign De Ligt, however, with, some of Europe’s most elite clubs tracking the Ajax teen.
