According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur deployed Juan Foyth as a right back during their friendly against Norwich City on Saturday.
It’s claimed that Foyth was used as a right back rather than as a centre back. He was signed to play as a central defender in 2017, but Mauricio Pochettino valued him as a right back too.
Jose Mourinho hasn’t really shown the same faith. He has only used Foyth three times, and one of those instances was as a last-gasp substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
His last appearance ironically came against Norwich City in December, playing 45 minutes in the 2-2 draw. Mourinho saw enough from Foyth to axe him at half time in that game.
The 22-year-old is unlikely to break into Mourinho’s first team any time soon. In fact, he may be gearing up for a move to Leeds United.
Argentinian outlets Ole and Bolavip both claim that Foyth is set to join Leeds on loan for the 2020-21 season. TNT Sports report that Foyth is yet to receive an offer, and wants to wait until the end of the season to decide a move.

If Leeds are keen on Foyth, his versatility to play at right back and centre back could be key for Marcelo Bielsa. Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi have been valuable to Bielsa for that exact versatility.
With Ben White set to return to Brighton and Hove Albion, Foyth could be a suitable replacement. He is at least building up his fitness at Tottenham, but just how much he will play in the Premier League remains to be seen.
