Sunderland keeping Josh Maja is good for the short-term, but may mean they lose him for a cut-price in the summer.

Maja’s contract at the Stadium of Light comes to an end at the climax of the season, and Sunderland still haven’t been able to agree new terms with the forward.
Maja is now able to talk to teams from abroad, and a move to Germany in the summer looks most likely.
Sunderland had reportedly looked into the possibility of selling Maja this month, but Jack Ross is still determined to keep him and it seems the Black Cats’ boss will get his wish.
Although that means Sunderland may not get much money for the striker in the summer, when they will receive just a minimal compensation package, it could be a boost to their promotion hopes.

Maja leads the scoring charts at Sunderland this season, and looks to be one of the most dangerous players in League One.
Sunderland are next in action at the weekend when they take on Scunthorpe United.
