The legendary manager reportedly wanted the Tottenham Hotspur job if Mauricio Pochettino quit.

Goal.com have claimed that Jose Mourinho was interested in the Tottenham Hotspur job earlier this year.
The Portuguese manager, who has won the Champions League on two occasions, has been out of work since being fired by Manchester United 10 months ago.
There was a vacancy at Real Madrid earlier in 2019 after the Spanish giants sacked Santiago Solari in March, with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino heavily linked once again.
And according to Goal.com, Mourinho was keen on replacing Pochettino at Spurs in the event that his Argentine counterpart swapped North London for Madrid.
The report adds that Mourinho gave up on the idea after Real re-signed Zinedine Zidane to replace Solari, meaning that Pochettino was staying put.
Mourinho to Tottenham might be a rumour that gets a little more serious over the coming weeks, depending on the Lilywhites’ form.
Pochettino is under a bit of pressure at the moment after his troops – who are already 10 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool – were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by a League Two side in midweek.
Tottenham host Southampton this afternoon in what should be a relatively simple win, but if Pochettino’s side drop more points then it’ll increase the pressure on the former Espanyol boss.
