According to the Evening Standard, José Mourinho is planning to raid Tottenham and bring Josh Oluwayemi to Roma.
What’s the story?
Well, the Evening Standard believe Mourinho rates the 20-year-old very highly, and included him in first-team training while at Spurs.
The Nigerian’s contract with Tottenham expires in June, and he is therefore able to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club in January.
As a result, if Spurs don’t tie him down to a new deal, it’s highly likely they could lose him for nothing.
Given all the work Tottenham have put in to develop Oluwayemi, it would be a great shame to lose him on a free transfer.
So far this season, the promising shot-stopper has had a tough time, conceding 15 goals in seven Premier League 2 outings.
Oluwayemi is also yet to keep a clean sheet in those seven games.
Josh Oluwayemi should leave Tottenham

In all honesty, Nuno Espirito Santo isn’t going to give Oluwayemi first-team action anytime soon, in our view.
Spurs have a World Cup winner in between the sticks in Hugo Lloris, while Pierluigi Gollini was signed on loan to deputise for the Frenchman.
To be brutally honest, even if Lloris and Gollini suffered bad runs of form, Nuno isn’t going to select Oluwayemi if he hasn’t kept a clean sheet yet this season.

For the sake of his career, Oluwayemi should make the switch abroad to Roma, where his fellow Englishman Tammy Abraham is.
It’s a path proven to be successful for young Englishman like Jadon Sancho, and hopefully, the same happens to Oluwayemi if the deal materialises.
