According to The Guardian, Jose Mourinho will now roll with Alfie Whiteman as his third-choice goalkeeper for the rest of the season.
Spurs allowed Paulo Gazzaniga to join Elche on deadline day, penning a loan deal until the end of the season.
Mourinho has now decided to give Whiteman the nod as third-choice, promoting him to a slightly more prominent first-team role.
Tottenham have usually gone with three senior goalkeepers; Michel Vorm left the club over the summer, with Joe Hart arriving as his replacement.
Now though, Spurs have chosen not to bring in a replacement for Gazzaniga, instead backing Whiteman.
Whiteman, 22, has come up through the Tottenham ranks, but has only played around 10 minutes for Spurs, coming on as a substitute for Hart.

In truth, Mourinho didn’t have many other options; Brandon Austin and Jonathan De Bie were other young goalkeepers at the club, but they also moved on in January.
Still, Whiteman is being trusted to step up instead of a new signing being pursued, and that should be a sign of confidence in the youngster.
