Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is ‘disappointed’ with Eric Dier, Football London have reported.
Dier has been a favourite of Mourinho since his arrival at Tottenham, with the England international entrusted to play in central defence regularly.
However, Dier’s showing in a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool recently was extremely poor, and Mourinho appeared to make an example out of him by dropping him for Tottenham’s next match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The likes of Joe Rodon, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez were all picked ahead of Dier in a back three for Spurs on Sunday.
And it is now claimed that Mourinho has been left very disappointed by Dier’s display, given the faith that he has shown in him.
Whether Dier will be able to fight his way back into Mourinho’s good books remains to be seen.

Tottenham hardly looked rock solid defensively against Brighton, although Toby Alderweireld was one of Spurs’s better performers on the day, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat.
Tottenham are next in action against Chelsea on Thursday and it will be interesting to see if Dier is backed to start.
