The West Ham United ace has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
According to a report from Austrian media outlet Osterreich, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has personally made contact with West Ham star Marko Arnautovic’s brother and agent Danijel Arnautovic regarding the possibility of bringing the Austria international to Old Trafford this summer.
The 29-year-old joined the Hammers from Stoke City in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £24 million, according to the Guardian, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the club’s most important players.
He chalked up 11 goals and six assists in 31 Premier League outings for the east London outfit, and was a major contributing factor behind their ability to avoid the drop.
Unfortunately for West Ham, though, his fine performances have not gone unnoticed.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have identified Arnautovic as the ideal summer signing, although the Hammers will not entertain selling him for anything less than £50 million.
Austrian publication Osterreich now claim that Mourinho has personally made contact with the Austria international’s agent, in an effort to force through a move.
The Hammers will be desperate to hold onto Arnie, however, and if they want to make genuine progress next season, they must ensure that they do not lose the 29-year-old, regardless of how much they might receive for his services.
